It was 8 years ago when Award-winning designer Carolyn Pace of Hawaii met with another award-winning team of Applegate Tran Interiors from San Francisco. Their professional relationship has blossomed into a friendship and over the years they have contemplated a business venture together. It is not by accident that over time an opportunity to partner up introduced itself. There was a need in the market for their two different approaches and experiences to come together and fuse a new style of design.

Pace's soothing and elegant approach honors the Island's diverse cultural and casual lifestyle with its natural beauty complimented by her ability to integrate her sensibilities of design through her travels to Asia. Applegate Tran Interiors brings their talents in upscale urban lofts and elegant homes with bold, clean lined designs while still maintaining a green and tranquil home style. It is from their travels to Europe that they bring some of their western design theories. Together these designers bring resources from around the world. With the combined design team you not only have the Island's best in exotic materials and artisans you are going to get the added catalog of San Francisco's vast resources of furniture, fabrics, and additional materials.

Both design firms pride themselves on understanding the vision of the client and environment around them. "Our idea is to fuse island traditional style and city lifestyle with simplicity, elegance and a spark of surprise", say Gioi Tran. Their specialty is not focusing on a specific space, genre or even style of design. Every project has a unique solution tailored to its architectural style of the home, the surrounding environment, and the client's lifestyle. They orchestrate all elements of residential interior design, kitchen and bath design, from color consultation through architectural planning and project coordination.

Both design firms also empower the design approach in that they not only design from inside out but also bring the outside in.
